'Emmerdale' psycho Sally will try to smother Laurel to death.

Only days after locking Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) in a burning church, unhinged Sally Spode (Sian Reeves) tries to get her love rival out of the picture for good and claim Laurel's vicar husband Ashley (John Middleton) for herself.

When Laurel falls asleep on the sofa after returning home from hospital, Sally wastes no time in preparing to extinguish her rival, hovering over her with a pillow.

However, she's interrupted by a knock at the door from Nicola De Souza (Nicola Wheeler) who shakes Sally further by asking if Laurel is alright.

When Nicola ignores Sally, the psychotic woman worries that someone has finally cottoned on to her scheme.

Sian Reeves has previously said of her character's current unpredictable and ruthless actions: "She's actually bonkers. She will go to extreme lengths in her bid to replace Laurel. Sally just wants her life."

While Laurel is under supervision in hospital, Sally is quick to make herself useful to ex-boyfriend Ashley, playing hostess at the vicarage, helping to make get well cards and assuring Ashley that there's not need for Laurel to come home immediately.

When Nicola visits Laurel, she's concerned by her friend's worries about returning home suggesting the pair could be close to unmasking the truth behind seemingly helpful Sally.
