Kat and Alfie Moon will return to 'EastEnders' together this autumn.

The well-loved characters - portrayed by Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie - are due to return to Albert Square later this year, five years after they left together on Christmas Day in 2005 (25.12.05) for their new life in America.

Jessie and Shane have now signed initial one-year contracts to reprise their roles as one of the best-loved soap couples.

The 38-year-old actress can't wait to return to the programme and portray her feisty man-eater alter-ego once again.

Jessie said: "I am excited to slip back into Kat's stilettos. I've missed her."

Shane is also thrilled about being able to lock lips with the sexy market stall worker - who was known for her revealing outfits and heavy makeup.

He quipped: "More than anything, I'm looking forward to getting my face covered in Kat's lipstick again!"

Yesterday (08.02.10) it was confirmed Shane would make his Walford comeback over the next few months, but it hadn't been known whether Jessie would be making the move back to the BBC with him.
