Posted on 11th February 2010 12:04PM Carol Smillie thinks 'Strictly Come Dancing' turned her into a "w***e".
The TV presenter - who came fifth on the celebrity ballroom dancing show in 2006 - was drawn to the programme because of the glitzy outfits the female participants wear when they take to the dance floor, but was shocked when they brought out her raunchy side.
She said: "The costumes are out of this world. That's one of the major pulls for most girls taking part in 'Strictly'. It's that little girl fantasy of getting dressed up. You start off saying, 'I'll just go for the more natural look' and 'that skirt is quite short enough, thank you very much.' By week three, you're like a w***e!"
Carol wasn't used to wearing such provocative outfits before her stint in the reality show, but enjoyed being transformed into a "monster" with the elaborate make-up and accessories.
She told the Daily Record newspaper: "The bigger the lashes the better, and that skirt has got to go higher. It's amazing the transformation that comes over you. You morph into this monster."
The 48-year-old Scottish star was also shocked with how intimate she had to get with her dance partner Matthew Cutler for the show.
She explained: "Dancing is a very intimate thing which some of the 'Strictly' girls find a bit of a shocker. You're in someone's personal space with someone you really don't know and they're all over you like a rash."
