Everyone loves a teen idol. These pure teenagers, or not-so-pure teens, show us how to relate to the world around us and give us someone to identify with. Of course, not all teen idols are created equally. In fact, some are just outright terrible.

Britney Spears

I’m not sure it gets much worse than this. Britney started out on the Mickey Mouse Club and wound up allegedly bi-polar, popping out babies, abusing drugs, shaving her head, forgetting her underpants and any number of other horrifying antics. Fortunately Britney seems to be pulling it together with the help of her family and friends, and we hope for all of us, but her especially, that she stays on track to a better life.

Jamie Lynn Spears

Pregnant at sixteen, the young starlet was on one of the most popular television series for young teens. Now she’s had a baby well before she received her GED, she’s taken more than a bit of heat for the hopefully-happy mistake and now rumors are swirling that she might be pregnant again. Allegedly she didn’t realized you could become pregnant again while breastfeeding and will be a mom of two by the age of eighteen. Only time will tell, it would seem.

Lindsay Lohan

She was the adorable face of twins in Parent Trap. She graced the cover of countless teen mags, but now she’s a wasteland of what she once was. Wild, out of control, lacking underpants (again?), drunk, abusing drugs – it’s a shame that she couldn’t keep it together for her fans just a wee bit better than this.

Mary Kate Olsen

Adorable since she was just a baby, Mary Kate has been flanked by her twin sister Ashley as they started up countless enterprises, became entrepreneurs of the best kind and then seemed to fade away. Mary Kate was a fashion icon for younger girls and then suddenly, she was anorexic. Even after entering a treatment facility, it appears Mary Kate still struggles with her weight issues.

Vanessa Hudgens

Once a Disney heartthrob, Vanessa managed to have naked photos leaked into the media twice. Disney saved her reputation the first time, but when the second batch of pictures were released after the first set was taken, Disney, teens and their parents were all more than ready to wash their hands of her.

Paris Hilton

A girl famous for being famous. She spent her teen years wearing expensive clothing, trying to look sexy and doing rather outrageous things. Who wouldn’t want their daughter to idolize the wealthy, empty-headed, drunk, pill popper? Oh, who also has yet another sex video online.
