Does anyone remember Milli Vanilli? Personally I think it would be hard to ever forget such a pop icon. Well it is rumored that there will be in fact a movie based on Milli Vanilli. The film will tell the tale of their rise to success and there quick decline of success in the late 1980s. For those who don’t remember Milli Vanilli was a pop group who lip synced everything and were exposed in the media as the biggest pop frauds of all time.
The film will be written by Jeff Nathanson, the same man who wrote the film Catch Me If You Can. Nathanson says that he has the backing of the group for the ok of writing this biopic. The weird thing is both Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus died back in 1998 when the famous duo died of a drug overdose.
Nathanson has always been fascinated with people who pulled a fast one of the rest of society which is why he probably wrote the screenplay for Catch Me If You Can which as if you don’t remember was a true story of a con artist who traveled writing phony checks. Nathanson says that Milli Vanilli were the biggest laughing stocks in pop culture because the group sold over 30 million singles and 11 million albums.
I think this film will be one of the more interesting biopics to hit the silver screen in the last few years.
