The Dead Weather will finish recording their second album this year.
The supergroup released their debut LP 'Horehound' this summer but are already well underway with the follow-up, despite it previously being unsure whether they would continue with the project.
Singer Alison Mosshart - who also performs with The Kills - revealed: "In between now and Christmas I'm going to go back to Nashville at some point.
"I think I'll spend most of December in America and finish the second record. So there will be more new material.
"It's a kind of endless train of things which keep coming up. So I suppose next year is going to look a lot like this year. We kind of wrote 15 songs in three days. We had three days off at one point which we didn't expect."
"The songs sound great. I really like them. We've been playing three or four of them on stage so they keep changing all the time."
Alison also praised Jack White, who drums for the group and also sings in the Raconteurs and White Stripes, for his fast work rate and admits she is in awe of his productivity.
She told BBC Newsbeat: "He's a man with a billion ideas every single day. He works really hard and rarely sleeps.
"It'd be great if there was a day with 48 hours instead of 24 for him I'm sure. It's pretty incredible to be around."
Jack and Alison are joined in the group by Jack Lawrence and Dean Fertita.
