Some films are enjoyable, but others are so profound they change you in ways you wouldn’t expect. Be forewarned before you grab popcorn to watch any of these flicks.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
A cult classic, the Rocky Horror Picture Show follows the journey of the classic “good” couple who finds their way into the home and insane games of an alien transvestite.

Beaches
One of the most gut-wrenching movies of all time, you wont’ be able to do much more than cry after you finish it. It’s hugely profound and creates a lasting impression.

SuperSize Me
Want to know what happens to your body when you live off of McDonald’s for a month? Actually, you probably don’t – it’s really quite disgusting.

Fight Club
Another head-messing movie, Fight Club tackles the issues that seem to be unresolved in many men. Anger, aggression and the need to pound on each other.

High Fidelity
For those who love high-brow movies, this one is terrific. Music, love, romance and John Cusask at his best. This is also one of the most intellectual romantic comedies of all time.

Boogie Nights
Hugely popular for a reason, a glimpse inside the life and times of a porn star is entertaining and mildly educational.

Office Space
Hate your job? This is your new pin-up to a horrible job and the desire to just do nothing all day. Absolutely perfect for anyone in an office setting who wonders – what would I do if I could do anything.

Almost Famous
Following a rock and roll band, the story of the reporter and the groupie is moving and darkly disturbing at times.

The Matrix
There are still people out there who don’t understand what they see when they watch the Matrix. White rabbits, red pills, white pills, the architect – it’s definitely out there in a great way.

The Passion of the Christ
Religious or not, this was absolutely intriguing to watch. It’s as close to a biography as you can possible imagine for Jesus Christ. This was also one of the highest grossing films ever – so it must be profound to more than a few people.

Forrest Gump
A bit silly, a bit deep at times, but immensely moving. If nothing else, you’ll live the rest of your life knowing every shrimp dish known to man.
