Well, I'm sixteen, and I'm really shy, and I've never dated anyone before. I can't get up the nerve to ask anyone, because I'm afraid of rejection and because I think the guy should make the first move. I really like this one guy, and he's one of my best guy friends. People tell us that we would make a cute couple, and I'd like to give it a shot, I'm just not willing to risk our friendship. My Best Friend keeps telling me to "put myself out there" and to flirt more. I have never learned to flirt, and I don't know how to put myself out there. I'd like to let him know I'm interested, without saying it, and I want to know how to tell if he likes me also. Any flirting tips and advice?

I was good friends with my boyfriend before we started going out and we've been together for about eighteen months now. I guess it shows that even if it doesn't work out for everyone, it can work for some people.

Don't be too afraid of rejection, it will just limit the possibilities, the worst that can happen is that you won't get what you were trying to get! If you are friends it can open things for you both and make the relationship more honest and real. Go for it, you only get once shot at life
