But I wayyyy lack any motivation. In like the last three months the only thing I've used Photoshop for aside from web design (which is pretty much my job so I don't really feel it's that fulfilling creatively) is my current sig and this banner for a thing I'm doing:



Both of which = easy blends which took 2 mins tops. Well, my sig a bit more than that but yeah.

Any other arty people gone through this? I used to mess around with Photoshop for hours and do so much. I was never amazing at it but I used to enjoy it so you know. The stuff I used to do for hours just bores me now and I really don't know what I can replace it with. I tried including stuff like a tablet into my work but I can't draw for shit so aside from the real simple stuff that didn't work out.

I might just make a whole pixel art city again for the heck of it one day and see where that leads. Ha.

I need Ben or Cai back. It was fun talking about this stuff with them.

I have a friend who is obsessed with RENT and Wicked. And she loves Idina Menzel and Kerry Ellis and if you did something like that ^ with pictures of them she'd love me for a while which means I can bum fags off her B)

If i lack motivation, i just go and pick up a book and look at the work of people i really admire.
Sometimes i just try and copy work that i like the look of, even if i don't have a clue how. If you're used to messing around, but now that bores you - maybe this could help you too? Instead of just playing, having no aim. Find something by someone you really like and just sit there and try and emulate their methods.

Alternatively, just practice drawing? Or forget about Photoshop. If thats a tool you have to use day in day out at work, experiment and find something else to play with. Maybe a more traditional medium?
