A US woman has been jailed after ordering adult magazines in her neighbour's name.

The 47-year-old woman told authorities she wanted payback after being charged with a misdemeanor because of a complaint made by the other woman.

She ordered hundreds of dollars worth of magazines including men's titles Playboy and Hustler while pretending to be her neighbour.

The woman has been jailed for 60 days after pleading no contest to tampering with records. Her lawyers have appealed the decision and requested the judge suspend the rest of the sentence as it was her first felony conviction.
