An American man shot his friend after he found his pal was eating his cake.

The unnamed guy and his friend were driving through Philadelphia when the driver spotted his passenger munching on the sweet treat on Monday morning (17.01.11).

The pair then got into an argument which resulted in them getting out of the vehicle and the driver pulling out a gun and shooting his friend in the chest.

An investigating police officer told The Philadelphia Daily News newspaper: "They weren't supposed to be sharing. One was eating the other's food, they got into an argument and bang bang!"

The shot 31-year-old man is still in hospital being treated for his injuries
