A bear walked into a US house - and stole a teddy.

The creature took advantage of an open door to stroll into Mary Beth Parkinson's property in Laconia, helping itself to two pears and a bunch of grapes, as well as drinking from a fishbowl before leaving with the stuffed toy.

Mary Beth said: "We found the Teddy bear, as well as a box of Goldfish crackers, on the lawn. "I thought maybe it was a cub that she had and lost and it looked like a little baby cub to her and she picked it up and then dropped it when she had to jump over the wall to get away.

"This bear apparently came through the open door - my sons didn't close the door - smelled the fruit on the counter and ate the fruit."
